About the Artist
My mother wrote in my baby book that I would be an artist if I practiced. I've practiced for many years now, drawing and painting all my life. In my small home town of Chester, Virginia, I had some of the best high school art teachers around, and I took every class offered. I attended Radford University and majored in art, enjoying every aspect: from life drawing, clay sculpture, and painting, to textile and jewelry design.
The French Impressionists greatly influenced my style. Realizing my dream by visiting the south of France, I refined my skill and style by studying and painting where the great Impressionists painted by the magnificent light.
The last twelve years, while enjoying my hobby of home decorating, I have focused my career on interior decorative painting. Whether having all four walls and ceiling as my canvas, or a small niche, I love working with clients as well as interior designers to create just the right artwork to enhance the décor.
Most recently I also enjoy creating commissioned works of oil on canvas, as well as oil portraits.
I feel very blessed to have been born with this talent, and to have had great support and opportunity to share it with family, friends, and my wonderful clients.
